EIDOS INFOCENTRE

Contemporary art for most people in Ukraine not only unsophisticated spectators but also for many professionals (artists, curators, journalists, teachers, theorists) is still a relative and undefined term and phenomenon. The reasons are obvious: Educational institutions of contemporary art do not exist at all. Academic programs of existing art schools are conservative and indifferent to contemporary art tendencies. Therefore for the development of contemporary art a platform, which consists of information and communication is needed urgently. EIDOS will assist to overcome this gap and initiates an EIDOS InfoCenter which is to be the source of information on contemporary art and a forum of discussion of current issues of importance in Ukraine and in the world.

Project goal

To create ARTFORUM as a long-term education and communication project as a part of EIDOS InfoCenter. ARTFORUM is based on the sources of the EIDOS Library and the web-site of EIDOS InfoCenter.

With the help of ARTFORUM we will create the united information and theoretic basis and communicative platform for the professional art circles and wide audience in the context of actual art.

To achieve this goal the project is aimed

- to take up and learn the process of contemporary art on international and local scenes,
- to become an education forum in contemporary art,
- to present Ukrainian art-scene to international audience,
- to create communication environment to stimulate the process of ideas exchange.
