Workshop with Martin Keil
"Responsibility and artistic action - strategy and process oriented art practise"

 November 20

The workshop is devoted to the issue of responsibility and artistic action. German artist Martin Keil, member of REINIGUNGSGESELLSCHAFT (RG), will present the different approaches and strategies used in his work. Public interventions and participatory projects in connection with empirical reasoning follow a conscious understanding of art.

During the second part of the workshop, participants will present their work. The third part will be an open discussion on the specific challenges and needs of artistic projects in Ukraine. A special focus will be made on cooperation between institutions and obtaining target groups.

REINIGUNGSGESELLSCHAFT (RG) (whose German implications range from a “Cleaning Service” to a “Purification Society”) is a group of art projects that works at the crossroads between art and social reality. Martin Keil (born in 1968 in Germany, lives and works is Dresden and Odessa) and Henrik Mayer (born in 1971 in Germany, lives and works is Dresden) came together to create RG. The artists form partnerships with individuals from different backgrounds, providing platforms for interdisciplinary activities. Their way of working is based on the positive potential of connecting different spheres of society. RG initiates projects that generate new relationships and form interested groups of people. REINIGUNGSGESELLSCHAFT understands contemporary art as a catalyst of social and political processes.
