UniCredit and Unidee establish scholarship grants for creative people from Est-European Countries

UniCredit and Unidee establish scholarship grants to offer creative people coming from Est-European Countries the opportunity to be an active participant in the Unidee & UniCredit project.

Nature of the programme: the goal of the Unidee & UniCredit project is to activate creative processes for socially responsible change. The participants will have the task and the opportunity to conceive, promote and coordinate a initiative, such as conference, meetings, exhibitions and workshops in collaboration with cultural local institutions in their countries and in agreement with UniCredit and Cittadellarte. The initiative will be aimed at researching and promoting the relation between the world of finance, of enterprise and of culture, stimulating the dialogue between different disciplines and cultural environments in the home countries of the applicants.

Number of Grants: 3

Eligibility: artists, curators, managers of socio-cultural projects from Croatia, Ukraine, Serbia and Bulgaria. Working knowledge of English required. Selection of applicants will be based on:- creative attitude towards social engagement- professional experience.- project proposals for a initiative to be developed during the residency programme with the support of Unidee and Cittadellarte staff and submitted to UniCredit at the end of the residence. UniCredit's Board will finally evaluate the proposals and take final decisions upon the realisation of the event in the applicant's home country.At the end of the course each resident receives an attendance certificate. This will not, however, be issued if the resident has been absent for more than 20% of the entire period of the residency. read more...

Digital Photo Exhibition of young Ukrainian photographers

In September 2007 The Union of the Ukrainian Students in Germany and The Russian-German Exchange announced the Competition of digital photos “Everyday life of my region” for the young Ukrainian photographers.

The Competition was held in the framework of the project “East and West are two banks of one river”, the main idea of which is to present the reality of the everyday life of various regions of modern Ukraine. Therefore the main goal of the Competition was to attract the attention of the German and Ukrainian communities to the problems of inter-regional differences and to searching ways of solving these problems: www.sus-n.org

“The Aura” magazine

Despite the fact that the Ukrainian Contemporary art is actively keeping on its development in different spheres, there is/are few editions in Ukraine, which are to cover and to analyze this process. New art magazine “The Aura” will fill this gap. We do not try to become a very serious and deep-academic edition for short circle of experts. On the contrary, our aim is to unite the information, an accessible form of statement, interesting and vivid texts and high quality of artworks. We enable real professionals to the work. These people do not only understand art deeply, but also are able to write precisely and subtly about it.

PinchukArtCentre has celebrated the first anniversary

PinchukArtCentre, the contemporary art centre was opened in the centre of Kyiv a year ago. During the first year of its work PinchukArtCentre held four groundbreaking exhibitions: “The first acquisitions”, “GENERATIONS.UsA”, “Weak Munis: expertise”, “The eye of subconsciousness: selected photographs from the Sir Elton John’s Collection”. The total amount of visitors since September, 16th 2006, when the centre was opened, is more than 145 000 of people.
